Congratulations!  Your county does not require you to have a hearing before a judge to complete your name change.

Within about two weeks of having your fingerprints taken, your county clerk's office should have received your criminal history records check.  Your case will them be processed by the court, and they will contact you to let you know if the judge needs any additional information from you (usually this is not necessary).

We recommend contacting your county clerk's office to check the status of your criminal history records check and name change case if it has been four weeks and you have not heard from them regarding the results of your name change request.

How long does it take for the county to receive your criminal history records check?
Your County Clerk of Court will usually have the results of your criminal history records check two weeks after your fingerprints are taken.

How long does it take for the court to process your case?
