If you have your fingerprints taken by the Tampa Bay Police Department, you will need to submit a payment for your FDLE background check through the Civil Work Control System (CWCS).
The agencies that conduct the criminal history records check will send your results directly to the Hillsborough County Clerk of Court.
- You can get the site by following this link: https://caps.fdle.state.fl.us/caps/homePage.jsf
- You will need your credit card and the fingerprint card given to you by the Tampa Police Department
- The CWCS site will ask for the Transaction Control Number and Your Name exactly as they appear on the fingerprint card
- Once you have paid for the FDLE background check, please print your receipt from the CWCS site
- You must submit your payment through the CWCS site within 30 days of having your fingerprints taken. If this does not occur, the fingerprinting process will need to be done again with the Tampa Police Department.
